Introduction To The ONBOARDING System
In this article, you will see how to set the Onboarding component of your system up for your clients who sign up.
What you will need:
- Access your GHL Tools wrapper, click on SETTINGS and open up the ONBOARD tab
- If you want to collect more information from users, sync custom values and fields etc, check out the Custom Form help section.
- To TEST your users, we recommend using the FREE ACCOUNTS option and incognito. WARNING: Don't test the onboard process with your Admin user!
Look and Feel
Inside the Onboard tab here:
The first option here is on by default, if you want to turn off the onboard wizard screen and just have your users go straight to the onboard forms, you can toggle this off.
The /dashboard link will take you to this screen so you can see what it looks like, you can adjust the words and images with these settings.
If you want to add a VIDEO intro onto the first image, send us a note and the vimeo/youtube link and we can add it for you.
By default you will see 2 steps, Intro, and Account Create.
If you want to sync additional fields, ask more questions, sync custom values and more, you can do this with the CUSTOM FORM option
Account Create
The GHL Onboard Form is under step 2. The options in this area are able to be modified, but only to the minimum changes GHL Account creation API allows:
The User Account type is default to ACCOUNT which gives them access only to the location that is created for them.
User Role is either User or Admin. By default this is set to Admin for the first user.
UPDATE: Nov 2021 GHL Removed the "Twilio Auto Phone Create" option from the API. We are hoping they are returning this as part of the ISV option coming during 2022.
We recommend leaving this option on, as it will create the subaccount in the parent Twilio anyway.
You can toggle these on/off to give the user the ability to switch them. We recommend setting them as OFF and setting the defaults that make sense for you.
