Coupons (New)
Coupons are a great way to create tailored Offers for your audience/users.
Coupons now have their own Tab in the menu here:
Here you will create your coupon word, set it's status (on/off) and optionally add a coupon expiry for when the coupon will stop working automatically (good for Sales type offers like "Black Friday")
Once you have added your coupon, they will appear available to select on any/all of your plans.
Next open the Default price plan you want the coupon to be added to
1. Your "original" or Default price will still be available on the plan. This coupon function will switch the price to another pricing plan within Stripe, when the active coupon is entered correctly.
2. Toggle on the coupon functionality using the toggle
3. Select the discounted price from Stripe using the dropdown. you will find your price id inside the plan in Stripe. With the new Stripe dashboard, you can actually add "another price id" to your existing plans without effecting the old ones, we suggest doing this to make it easier to find them later.
4. Select the COUPON you created in the earlier step from the dropdown.
5. Add the coupon amount, this is used to override the total in the checkout. For example, you might have a normal offer of $199 per month, but a special coupon "BLACKFRIDAY" gives users 50% off. You would set up the dicsounted monthly fee of $99 per month in Stripe, set up the discount coupon BLACKFRIDAY, then in the amount here you would put 99, so that it shows the correct amount in the checkout once the coupon is used by the user
6. Add your Price Description to override the original price when the coupon is selected. For example, "50% off! $99 per month only"
Save the plan.
With an active coupon, your users will now see the Coupon Code field in the checkout.
You can update the placeholder text for the Coupon Code field here in your /admin/settings BILLING tab
To switch off the coupon field, simply set all coupons to Inactive in the Coupons tab.
This functionality works with Marketplace products as well now too.
